It is a common attitude that it seems pointless to service or repair anything in our throw-away culture as some things appear cheaper to replace than repair. This does not apply to our gas/oil boilers. This is due to a number of reasons; a gas boiler is often run every day in the home and depending on the workload some components can wear faster than other. Simple faults in a gas/oil boiler are easy and inexpensive to fix. However, if these small faults are ignored it will increase the risk for the need to replace the whole gas/oil boiler. Most importantly, an under-maintained gas boiler could prove dangerous to you and your family.

When Should I Service My Boiler?

The peak times for people to discover a problem with their heating and or boiler is at the end of the summer months, when people turn their heating on after months of inactivity. After a period of inactivity it is not uncommon for a gas boiler to develop issues with clogged or seized parts due to lack of use. We recommend that you schedule a boiler service before the end of the summer.

Carbon monoxide kills around 30 people a year in the UK, and is completely taste and smell free.
